چکیده

Abstract Resonant optical antennas (ROAs) are nanodevices that can enhance the electromagnetic field in their vicinity and scatter light far field. The enhanced is localized subdiffraction-limited volume. Their ability to exhibit strong enhancement gap makes them suitable for coupling with quantum emitters. This paper introduced two novel bimodal triple-modal asymmetric cross-shaped nanoantenna designs. performance of reported nanoantennas numerically studied via finite element method (FEM). electric enhancements cross-sections calculated characterize These low-symmetry polarization-sensitive devices. Optical Model Calculations of 14.6A GeV Silicon Fragmentation Cross Sections

An optical potential abrasion-ablation collision model is used to calculate hadronic dissociation cross sections for a 14.6A GeV Si beam fragmenting in aluminum, tin, and lead targets. The frictionalspectator-interaction (FSI) contributions are computed with two different formalisms for the energy-dependent mean free path. These estimates are compared with experimental data and with estimates o...

Cross-diffractive optical elements for wide angle geometric camera calibration.

Diffractive optical elements (DOEs) can generate multiple two-dimensional (2D) diffraction grids that can be used to calibrate cameras for photogrammetry. However, several factors limit the accuracy and the functionality of this technique. One of the most important is the DOE fabrication itself. A large DOE with wide 2D fan-out grids is very difficult and costly to develop. Consequently, the ca...

Optical Antennas

Optical antennas are an emerging concept in physical optics. Similar to radiowave and microwave antennas, their purpose is to convert the energy of free propagating radiation to localized energy, and vice versa. Optical antennas exploit the unique properties of metal nanostructures, which behave as strongly coupled plasmas at optical frequencies. The tutorial provides an account of the historic...

Optical slow - wave metamaterials and their tunability

1. Classical analog of electromagnetically induced transparency for slow light A classical effect of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) is demonstrated in a planar metamaterials in the ultraviolet regime. The EIT unit cell consists of a vertical cut wire as the bright resonator and two horizontal cut wire pairs as the dark element. The destructive interference between the two resona...
